The  Spectraverb 1X12, 2X12 and 2X10 combo amps are available in 22 and 40 watt versions.  The Spectraverb 16 is available as a 1X12 combo. All are based on the famous “Blackface” circuits and incorporate several upgrades and improvements (see below).  The Spectraverb amps include standard features such as;

  • Very solid and dependable hand-wired (in USA) construction
  • Lush tube-driven spring reverb
  • Excellent compatibility with a huge variety of effects pedals
  • Medium-low gain with beautiful clean tones and classic American style bluesy crunch
  • All tube design with 6L6 or 6V6 output tubes

And quite a few improvements over the classic “blackface” design such as;

    • Upgraded transformers
    • Improved circuit design for tighter, less “farty” bass response
    • New exclusive reverb limiter control
    • Hand-wiring on very heavy duty epoxy glass turret boards
    • Bias test points on rear panel for easy tube changes
    • Select-able 4/8/16 ohm dual speaker output jacks
    • Detachable AC cord
    • Optional buffered effects loop and half-power switch
    • Optional solid state rectification on the Spectraverb 40 for increased power and headroom.

What is a reverb limiter control?  On other reverb amps this is what happens.  You set the reverb level to your preference for a clean volume but when you turn up or stomp on an overdrive or boost pedal, the reverb becomes too intense.  The Andrews exclusive Reverb Limiter control allows you to set your reverb to the desired amount and limits the level to that setting even if you turn up or use a pedal to increase volume for solos.  In the fully clockwise position, the amp will work as other amps, with no limiting.  In the fully counterclockwise setting, it will be fully limited.  In-between settings allow for partial limiting and increasingly wet and long duration reverb tones and the control is turned more clockwise.
